Motivation

Motivation

Once upon a time,

When I was five,

I watched a family of insects in a jar.

Did they have brain?

Did they know?

What?

Whose rules did they follow?

Days, weeks,   months…

Little, translucent larvae appeared on the leaves,

In the jar

I watched …

Days, weeks, one two three,

The larvae changed into tiny insects,

They moved slowly.

Joy!

My joy, not their parents’

The insect-parents  died the instant the babies   came to life

The insects’ job was done:

To multiply!

Today,

I stand alone as  mother of humans,

Not insects

I am asked, what is my motivation?

Why do I want the best for my child?

Health?  Respect?  Education?  To use the gifts bestowed upon her?

It MUST be a selfish motivation, is whispered in my ear,

 to want the best

For my beloved  child

Why can’t , I, like the insect, disappear, not care… die?

May be because…

 I AM HUMAN,

WITH A  DIFFERENT  PURPOSE  THAN AN INSECT

 EVOLUTION,

 THE THINKING RACE!!!

IF WE WASTE BIRTH GIFTS,

 WE PAY, SOONER OR LATER>

I AM A HUMAN PARENT,

NOT AN INSECT. MY MOTIVATION IS TO SEE MY CHILDREN

GO ONE STEP FURTHER THAN ME ON THE LADDER OF EVOLUTION

IF GOD’S GIFTS ARE DISRESPECTED,

 BEAUTY THROWN TO GUTTER,

TAKERS CRUSHING YOUNG, CONFUSED FLESH

UNDER THE WEIGHT OF LUST AND GREED,

WE, THE HUMAN PARENTS LOOK IN THE MIRROR OF LIFE AND SEE

HOPES , LOVE KILLED, GREED TRIUMPHANT’

VALUES  SHREDED TO PIECES,

What is a  human mother’s motivation to want the best for her children?

When the baby-insects came alive, their parents instantly died,

I, the human, was but a spectator…

I turned the jar upside down and let the baby-insects free…

I wondered what happened to them?

Later, I was told, only a few survived.

Their parents never knew.

They were already dead!
